Ah, so this is the lotus-picking girl statue in the lotus area near Hubin No.1 Park by West Lake. It's been standing here for twenty years. Once the lotus leaves are fully grown, the 'lotus-picking girl' appears to be 'working' amidst the lotus flowers and leaves, and mandarin ducks and other water birds gather around too, ha!

So many complaints! The 'Beauty and Phoenix' sculpture from my childhood was removed just like this.

Exactly! My little nephew loved it the most. He was heartbroken for ages after it was taken down.

I remember there was a cow statue somewhere. When I was a kid, I saw it and thought it was a real cow! I even thought, 'Wow, people in Hangzhou must be so happy, they can even keep cows here!' Hahahahahaha.

The mandarin ducks look like they've been Photoshopped in.

Whoa! The first time I saw it was at night, and it was terrifying! I stood nearby, my mind racing with all sorts of scenarios, and I was even hesitating whether to ask someone for help, like 'save me!' or something.

I passed by last night and got a real fright! It took me a good while of staring before I realized it was a sculpture.

If you get scared that easily, maybe you shouldn't go out at night. After all, walking around in the pitch dark, you might get scared to death!

They have lotus flowers and lotus roots here in the summer. Bet you didn't know that, huh? It's a really beautiful sight!
