He went to Shenzhen. I studied in Guangdong for four years and went to Shenzhen quite a bit. I think if tourists are on a tight budget there, it's genuinely hard to find good places to eat.

Saying Shenzhen has no ramen shops is a joke. There are plenty of Lanzhou ramen places, okay? If he's talking about Japanese-style ramen, maybe it's because they're so bad that they're not popular. There really aren't many of those shops in Shenzhen (though they're not entirely non-existent).
