Hello, to all my friends who are planning a trip to Suzhou:
- If you don't want to get lost in the crowd, by all means, absolutely don't go to Suzhou on weekends or Chinese public holidays (such as the Spring Festival and National Day)! I'm speaking from firsthand, up-to-date experience!
- I deliberately chose weekdays (like Monday and Tuesday) when most people tend to be at work or school, and here’s what happened:
- The famous pedestrian streets, where locals love to stroll and shop for various stores and food stalls, were already packed with people shoulder to shoulder; the street was bustling with crowds!
- Suzhou is well-known for its classical gardens (for example, the Humble Administrator's Garden and the Lingering Garden, both beautiful private gardens dating back several hundred years), but prepare yourself: long queues await you at every garden entrance. And if your goal is finding an unoccupied corner for a photo-op, forget about it!
- Additionally, there's the highly renowned Suzhou Museum (designed by the celebrated architect I.M. Pei, and the museum itself is a piece of artwork!). To purchase tickets, we had to make early arrangements and battle through the app for a week just to acquire mine!
- Imagine, even on weekdays, it was this crowded. I can only guess how "impressive" the sight must be during weekends and extended holidays... just thinking about it gives me goosebumps!
- #So many people in Suzhou #Strongly recommended to visit off-season

Is it usually crowded on weekends too? I'm still debating whether to go tomorrow.

Suzhou is quite a small city, but it has plenty of sights. Since the May Day holiday just passed, you've managed to avoid the peak travel rush.
