Over travel? This gal acts like she's never seen the world π Seriously?

Alright, no problem! Let me share with you my Beijing experience in a down-to-earth way so that it'll be crystal clear to you!
To be frank, I am exactly what the people call β someone who goes to a big city for the first time, gets excited by everything they see, and can't help but brag everywhere she goes, and that person is precisely myself!
Do you know Beijing, the capital of China, where famous landmarks like the Forbidden City and the Great Wall are located?
I went there on a nine-day trip, yet my WeChat Moments (which could be understood as a platform similar to Facebook or Instagram, which is super popular in China) was filled with posts as though I was there for 15 days, all written like little travel stories, each hundreds of words long.
What's even funnier is that when I had far too much to say that one post couldn't take them all, I would use the comments section to supplement the content, even making fun of myself for the overflow of enthusiasm!
Oh yes, after my travel, I'd post the photos and stories at my own pace, sometimes uploading several in a single day, leaving some of my friends feeling annoyed.
Yet consider this:
Wouldn't it be a waste if I didn't capture every detail along with my photographs and write about it, considering how much I spent around RMB3800 on this trip? To top that off, I have always been fond of sharing whatever amazed me with others, what is wrong with that? Hehe!
So, as for those who may think I've seen too little of the world, they're right - this is my first time in Beijing, and many things were fresh news to me.
Now, isn't it better to record anything inspiring me while the memory is still hot? When I am old and can barely walk anymore, what else would I rely upon to reminisce about the good old days?
A final reminder for the people who view my moments (or if youβre heading for a trip):
- If you feel that my updates are too frequent and slightly disruptive:
- Just change your settings in your social media application so that my updates are either temporarily hidden, or you simply see less of them. This won't trouble me at all!
- This solution ensures that you're not constantly interrupted, and I get my chance to share my joy, benefiting both parties!
To tell the truth, those who enjoy my sharing will do so willingly, whereas those who aren't keen won't bother to even open a single photo I post.
In life, there seldom are viewers who are always focused on us. What counts is to feel joy oneself and keep records of those precious moments oneself!
- If you feel that my updates are too frequent and slightly disruptive:
-
Restaurants closing at 9 PM? The subway empty after 8 PM? Beijing cuisine being too sweet? Are we even talking about the same Beijing I just visited?
-
Yeah, a lot of restaurants do close around 9 PM, and the subway is pretty empty after 8 PM.
-
So what? I post a lot too, and I always add location tags. I'm just worried people might think I stole the photos otherwise!
-
I make sure to include at least one photo of myself in every post, just so people know I was actually there, haha!
-
We have a colleague like that. When she travels, she posts at least twice a day, and she's almost always posting updates about her kid too. It just feels a bit too frequent. Go travel, post if you want, but there's no need to overdo it.
-
When you're traveling, you just post what you feel like sharing. You see something new, you want to share and remember it. So, posting several times is perfectly normal. It's not always about showing off, though I can't deny that happens sometimes. I see people posting about their kids on my feed too, and I totally get it. They probably just want to document their child's growth. When you're a mother, your child is your whole world, and every little moment feels worth recording.
-
I don't dare to post too much.
-
If you don't post, who would know how amazing you are? You managed to get reservations for the National Museum, the Summer Palace, Peking University, AND Tsinghua University! We couldn't get into any of them. Not just anyone can get in.
-
You know, when I was booking, I did ask friends to help, but I actually managed to snag all four of our tickets myself, including the high-speed rail tickets to Beijing and back from the Great Wall.
-
You do sound a bit like you haven't seen much of the world.
-
So what if I haven't seen much of the world? Does that mean I can't post? If you're so worldly, why are you even looking at social media feeds?
-
That makes me laugh even harder, hahaha.
-
Though, you probably have some people you've hidden your posts from, hahaha.
-
I hardly ever post on my Momentsβmaybe once a year, if that. With friends, I just share photos and videos directly in our chat groups. As for platforms like Xiaohongshu or Douyin, I post there sporadically and without any real pattern, but I rarely include people in those posts because I don't want acquaintances to see them.
-
Chat histories can be deleted, and content on other apps might disappear, but posts on Moments are generally there forever.
-
Wow, you only spent 3800 yuan in 9 days? That's really good!
-
Budget travel!
-
Wow, you've even traveled abroad! I haven't even been to an airport.
