Suzhou Travel Guide Incoming! πŸš€ 1

    Hello everyone, my friends!

Are you still stressed out about visiting crowded popular cities?喇叭 I wholeheartedly recommend looking at Suzhou, this hidden gem city!

The urban environment here is top-notch and clean. The weather between April and May is especially comfortable. However, it is worth mentioning that there aren't many people here now, so you don't have to feel like you're in the middle of a crowded place wherever you go! I prepared the following tips on eating, playing, and sightseeing in Suzhou just for you all, and rest assured you will be impressed! Hurry up and gather your travel companion(s) together and read these recommendations!!

βœ… These places in Suzhou, I give them two thumbs up!

    • Golden Chicken Lake sunset: πŸŒ…

      • Must head to the lakeside area in the evening for the sunset. The glittering waves and the beauty of it will take your breath away!
      • It is more modern in this part of Suzhou, with various high-rise buildings and shopping centers around.
      • Taking photos here can make fantastic souvenirs!πŸ“·
      • Admission Fee: Free!🎫
    • East Gate "Big Trousers" spot visit:

      • This is the iconic landmark of Suzhou. Because of its special appearance, local people also jokingly call it "big long johns."
      • Actually, it's where the largest commercial district in Suzhou is located.
      • Want good pictures? Consider heading to the 53rd-floor panoramic restaurant β€œTing Qi Qiu” located near it, the view from there is beyond words!
    • Paddle boat ride on Pingjiang Road:πŸ›Ά

      • When you are in Pingjiang Road, must experience a paddle boat ride! The Pingjiang River is an ancient street along the riverbank with traditional houses on both sides.
      • On the boat, sway slowly to see Suzhou from another angle and feel the tranquility of the Jiangnan Water Town - small bridges, flowing water, and residents.
      • Admission Fee: Around 40 RMB per person.πŸ’°
    • Zhuozheng Yard:🏞️

      • This is among the four most famous classical gardens in China! Inside, there is a landscape at each step, and every few paces present different scenes, exuding the ingenuity and aesthetics of traditional Chinese garden design, truly impressive!
      • Visiting Tips: You need to slow down and take your time to appreciate the characteristics of classical gardens.
      • Admission Fee: 80RMB.🎫
    • Suzhou Museum:πŸ›οΈ

      • After visiting Zhuozheng Yard, you can directly move to nearby Suzhou Museum, which are quite close to each other.
      • Not only there are valuable collections inside, but the building itself is an artwork designed by world-renowned architect Ieoh Ming Pei (also a designer of the glass pyramid in the Louvre!).
      • Important Notice:
      • Reservation is a must!
      • How to reserve?: Usually, people look for "Suzhou Museum Official Mini-program" on WeChat to make reservations.
      • Why is it important?: Without making a reservation, you may not enter because of large crowds, ending up on an empty trip.
      • Admission Fee: Free entry, yet reservations are essential!🎫

When people say Tongli Ancient Town is far and not worth visiting, I'll just let that slide. But Hanshan Temple, though small, why skip it? It's a short walk from Xiyuan Temple, and in between, there's the Maple Bridge Scenic Area – the very place depicted in Zhang Ji's poem 'A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge.' And how is Tiger Hill far from the city center? From Suzhou Station, it's just 4 subway stops: Line 4 for one stop to Sujin, then transfer to Line 6 for three stops to Huqiu. Exit 3 is about a 500-meter walk to the entrance. How can anyone call that far from downtown??? Plus, there's another gem you all are missing: Qionglong Mountain Scenic Area in Wuzhong District, the birthplace of Sun Tzu's 'Art of War'.

Gotta try a bowl of Suzhou's traditional shrimp and eel noodles.

Should I visit both the Humble Administrator's Garden and the Lingering Garden, or is it better to pick just one?

Tiger Hill far from downtown? I'm speechless! Line 6️⃣ takes you directly there.
