Shenzhen schools usually organize trips to a few essential places: Happy Valley, Window of the World, OCT East, and Jinggangshan.

This is the most savage diss Disney has ever received.

Haha, well, Disney has the advantage of its cultural IPs and the whole fairytale magic thing going for it.

I actually thought Window of the World was free before I came. Then I checked and saw it costs over 100 yuan... Instantly made me not want to go.

A full-price ticket is 200 yuan, but it's half price in the evening.

I'd hesitate even if they paid me 200 yuan to go. I went there for a school trip in first grade and it left a bad taste in my mouth for life.

Getting an annual pass is a great idea for taking the kids out; I highly recommend it. My 2-year-old son clamors to go every week anyway.

In the eyes of most Shenzhen residents, it's just a 'workhorse' city with not much to do for fun. They don't seem to care that it has mountains, the sea, skyscrapers, and top-tier parks.

That's because most people in Shenzhen are just here to work and don't have a strong sense of belonging. I'm one of them.

For that kind of money, you're better off going to Happy Valley.

The regular ticket price isn't worth it. If there's a free event or activity, then it might be worth checking out.

If you've never been, it's still worth visiting at least once.

You're right. If the admission fee were 50 yuan or less, it'd be an absolute steal. But it's over 200 yuan.

But then it would be incredibly crowded, and the experience wouldn't be as good.
