Shanghai: Seriously, Don't Bother.
-
Wow! Shanghai gives me the feeling of being jam-packed with people, like there are a billion of them! (Just kidding, don't all come...) This way, I can enjoy my trip to Disneyland without any hassle.
Slight advice: Especially during Chinese public holidays like May Day Holiday, popular tourist attractions will be insanely crowded. So prepare yourself for long lines if you plan to visit places like Disneyland!
Taking the subway in Shanghai (subway or metro) was eye-opening to me. It felt like the subway never ended and I had to keep on walking endlessly!
️ Important warnings and tips
️
Problem: Subway stations in Shanghai are extremely huge! Transferring between lines or walking from the entrance to the platform may involve a long distance much farther than you've imagined.
Solutions:- Wear comfortable shoes!
- Give yourself extra time for transferring, and avoid overloading your schedule.
A few times, I walked aimlessly, utterly lost as to where I was going.
Quick tip: Download a reliable map app on your phone, or pay extra attention to signs. But most importantly, embrace the feeling of being "on the road."In the end, when it comes to going out for fun, the key is the act of going out itself, and enjoying the experience!
Wishing everyone a happy May Day Holiday
(May Day Labor Festival in China is an important holiday!)

The best thing to do in Shanghai during holidays is to stay home, hahaha.
-
Shanghai is perfect for a city walk.
-
You're already counting your blessings if you don't encounter any ill-mannered tourists. That's what truly spoils the mood.
-
Hahaha, what's up?
-
I think the young man is quite a snack too.
-
I'm super sweet.
-
Every time I go out, it feels like I'm being squeezed to death [Ugh].
-
Seriously! And then the Yuyuan Garden station was closed, making me walk a much longer way after work! Plus, cycling isn't allowed in many areas either.
-
To all my friends visiting from out of town, it's not that we don't want you here, but when I'm on the subway squashed under someone's armpit, who's going to pity me?
-
Hahahaha, sorry!
-
I went from Shanghai to Suzhou for a day, and it was just as crazy.
-
Suzhou is ridiculously crowded, haha.
-
Disneyland on May Day? You picked a great time.
-
Didn't go to Disneyland.
-
Haha, where did you go then?
-
Just the typical tourist spots.
-
To become a male masseur.
-
How do you do that?

When you go to the Bund at night, don't take the side with the historic international buildings. Head straight to the opposite bank and access the viewing platform from Waibaidu Bridge—it's less crowded. The historic buildings side has crowd diversions and is absolutely jam-packed.
