I kind of felt that too. Maybe many were on loan when I visited? The viewing area I was at didn't have any leopards or lions.

As someone from Liaoning (implied by 'Liao A' license plate), we go to Chimelong every year, that's how much we love it! If you think the animals are skinny and scarce, you might as well just stay home and sleep – you'll find everything you want in your dreams.

It's your business if you love it, no need to seek validation here.

I've already bought my tickets; I'm going on June 1st (Children's Day).

Did you perhaps go to the Bird Park (Feiniao Leyuan)?

Did you visit the Golden Monkey Kingdom at the North Gate?

Are you sure you went to Chimelong Guangzhou and not the Guangzhou Zoo? This is the first time I've heard of Chimelong's animals being skinny.

Maybe they prefer animals that are fattened up like prize pigs.

I went today. There were plenty of animals, and I didn't think any of them looked skinny.

Then again, maybe it's because my kid isn't that interested in animals, so I didn't really look closely myself...

I wouldn't say they're skinny, but the variety of species is indeed a bit lacking.

Some animals are kept at their Qingyuan base.

Are you sure you actually went to Chimelong?

Perhaps it was Changlu Farm (Changlu Nongzhuang) in nearby Foshan? They genuinely have fewer animals there.
