Travel Agent's Bombshell: Think Twice About Taiwan (Unless You Absolutely HAVE To!)
-
Hey everyone, if you need to apply for a Taiwan entry permit, hit me up!
-
Just avoid summer... any other month is fine. Summer gets really hot, humid, and sticky. Safety isn't an issue, but be warned: late-night strolls might lead to weight gain (from all the delicious food!).
-
How about going in October or November?
-
Why aren't you coming? The tourism industry is in tears!
-
We'd love to go too!
-
So, is there no way for ordinary mainland residents to go?
-
Nope, no can do.
-
A relative gave me 1000 New Taiwan Dollars 30 years ago, and I'd like to go spend it.
-
Thirty years ago! Wow, just so you know, our New Taiwan Dollar bills have been updated since then
-
Yeah, seriously, it's probably best if you don't all come at once
-
I'm not listening, I'm coming anyway!
-
Even international students face hurdles. For a simple tourist trip, they practically do a background check on your entire family. It's so ridiculous, I've lost interest in going.
-
It's fine over here for us; the application process is super convenient.
-
Highly recommend going now. The travel experience is incredibly good!
-
It's not that I don't want to go; we simply can't go.
-
There are no security checks at the train or subway stations.
-
You can take the local train from 'Yongkang' station to 'Bao'an' station. Your ticket will then say 'Yong Bao An Kang' (from Yongkang to Bao'an), which is a pun for a phrase meaning 'wishing you eternal peace and health'!
-
I want to go.
