This is why you don't see many girls in Guangdong wearing a full face of makeup, unless it's for a special occasion. Because the moment you step outside, it all melts! All of it! And it's not even that hot yet. Give it a bit more time, and sweat will turn your face into a total mess in minutes.

I've been wondering these past couple of days here, do girls in Guangdong even wear makeup? With this terribly humid and hot weather, any makeup would probably just smudge, right?

The original poster (OP) has been having a cup of herbal tea every day these past few days.

Actually, it seems they've developed 'internal heat' (Shang Huo), and their gums are all swollen.

The weather these past few days has actually been quite comfortable, don't you think? The really scorching hot season hasn't even begun.

It's mainly the stuffiness and humidity that make it feel even hotter~ It's still pretty cool in the north right now, you know.

When I passed by Yongqing Fang this year, I really couldn't understand what possesses out-of-town tourists to visit at this time of year. Even as a Guangdong local, I find this weather miserable.

Their thinking is probably: 'They just haven't experienced the full force of Guangzhou's April weather!' Just a few days ago in Qingdao, I was still wearing a padded winter coat.

As a woman from Shandong, I felt the same! Yesterday, when I got off the plane, I thought I'd walked into someone's steam room! Today's a little better, though.

I'm arriving in Guangzhou on April 28th. What kind of clothes should I wear? Would it be okay to wear a skirt with bare legs?

Yes, that's fine. It's already quite hot.

Looks like the original poster (OP) has left. For this trip, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it 💯!

Thank you, sweetie! Even us locals are cursing this awful weather, and yet you're giving our place such a high score!

This is so scary! I want to bring my kids for a trip, but I keep seeing posts trying to discourage people from going. Should I still go or not?!

Well, you're just visiting, not planning to live here, right? Generally speaking, it's just going to be hot from now on.

What do you mean 'like it's summer in April'? April is summer in Guangdong! (Just kidding / jk)

Haha, you're still thinking about seasons with a northerner's mindset! Back in Qingdao, I was still freezing and shivering in April, haha.
