That 'Creative Retail Zone' on the first floor, as they nicely call it, is basically just filler tenants.

All large malls need to fill tenant spaces, especially new ones. It just depends on how they fill them.

Doesn't the subway station entrance look a bit too stark/plain?

I don't think so. Which other subway station exit in Shenzhen has been designed or 'packaged' like this before?

The worst part about K11 is there's nowhere to get breakfast; you just have to go hungry...

I agree, I think it's pretty good too, especially the skybridge connecting the north and south wings. It offers a space for activities, and the outdoor areas are also fantastic.
