Taiwan is the only place I've visited that I'm eager to go back to.

I don't think Taipei is much fun; Tainan and Kaohsiung are more enjoyable.

Tainan's zongzi (rice dumplings) and beef fried rice are a must-eat for me every time I visit.

I'm planning a solo trip to Taiwan for the first time in July for about 5-6 days. Any city recommendations?

Honestly, July isn't recommended for anywhere in Taiwan. You'll get roasted by the heat!

When will travel from mainland China to Taiwan (the main island) be reopened? I'd love to visit.

It really depends on what you like. I went to Taiwan because someone I love is there.

Whether a place is 'fun' really depends on how you explore it. I personally love just wandering the streets, trying delicious food I come across, and visiting areas where locals live. If the street scenes are beautiful and there's good food, I consider it fun, rather than judging a place solely by its famous tourist attractions.

Just got to Tainan yesterday, and it feels a bit like my hometown. The locals are so lovely and welcoming—it's so heartwarming. I really like the people here.

                          Why is that?

If you're looking for fun, the central and southern parts of Taiwan are actually better.

Uh, where in Taiwan did you take these photos? They look a bit strange.
