Taiwan Life: Expect the Unexpected (and Maybe a Little WTF)

Sure, no problem! This feeling is understandable. It's like some places have stunning scenery but the accommodation conditions are subpar, ha ha!
To be honest, I really do enjoy Taiwan in general, and I personally quite like it.
However, there is something that I have a little “criticism" about - old houses.
Really, those old-looking houses and makeshift metal-roofed buildings (which use metal sheets for quick building and sometimes for insulation in tropical regions) can be seen everywhere.
Of course, modern, beautiful buildings also exist, but these old sights are just too common. Honestly, they are not very aesthetically pleasing and somewhat mar the urban landscape.

These are the old town streets in Yingshan County, Nanchong, Sichuan. It's pretty much the same story nationwide – old areas look dated, and urban renewal is a gradual process.

Now, these are the truly wealthy people.
-
They must be wealthy business owners.

Is this Tainan?

I'm in Hsinchu.

Hong Kong.

Looks like the street stall area in Mong Kok.

Usually, the truly wealthy are more understated, while those who are poorer tend to flaunt their wealth.

'Young Master, the Madam has been kneeling in the snow for two days. Should she continue?' 'Has she admitted her mistake?' 'Young Master… Madam… she just passed away.' 'What?! How dare she die without my permission?' 'Young Master, we found this among her belongings…' With trembling hands, the man opened the paper. It read: 'Anyone wanting to be a livestreamer, contact me.'

It's too dilapidated, with far too many safety hazards.
