I have been in Shanghai for only three days and I feel a bit perplexed…
- It's said that Shanghai is known as "the Magic City" (Mó Dū, which means "Magic City" and is quite a cool nickname!), but the charm seems to be lost on me.
- Could it be because:
- I don't have enough money in my pocket? (Everything feels quite pricey here!)
- Or is it because I haven't found the right way to explore?
- This is a bit awkward, hahaha! Has anyone had similar experiences, going somewhere everyone says is great, but you just don't "feel it"?
P.S. Sometimes travel can be more exhausting than work! Choosing where to go, especially to places one has never visited before, really is an art form. I hope next time I will be able to find a city that I want to visit again after experiencing it once. Sometimes, spur-of-the-moment travel is incredibly cool, and solo travel is great too – there's such a big world out there, so we must venture out and see it!

Shanghai might not be the best tourist city, but for those of us who live here long-term and love to have fun, I'd say it beats 90% of other cities in China.
