Wait, So West Lake *Hasn't* Dried Up? π

Well, Hangzhou (a world famous tourist city with amazing scenery) seems to be relying on a convention known as "CP" to boost tourism spending.
- By the way, "CP" actually stands for "Comic Pairing," which is essentially a large gathering that brings together anime and gaming enthusiasts, similar to Comic-Con in other countries.
- And this event only lasts two days! Two whole days!
Now, let me tell you, guess how many people would walk through those pedestrian-only shopping streets during regular holidays? It's hard to imagine just how crowded it could get!
-
A word of caution for those planning to visit:
- Crowd Warning: If you're planning to come to Hangzhou during Chinese public holidays, especially when walking down those famous pedestrian streets or visiting popular spots, you need to mentally prepare yourself for the vast crowds, so much so that you might question human behavior!
- How to circumvent the issue: Try going off-peak dates or set out early and return late. Some places can allow you to purchase tickets online in advanced, saving you line waiting time.
-
#cp31 (I wonder how much economic impact this convention would generate, hehe.)

Fast forward to Hangzhou: a quaint, yet major, metropolis.
-
Fast forward to Hangzhou's foot traffic being just like it was during the pandemic.
-
Going to Hangzhou on a weekend and meeting up at Longxiangqiao? I'd have to think twice, even thrice.
-
Meeting at Longxiangqiao on a weekend? If it weren't for a die-hard friend, I wouldn't even bother. It's terrifyingly crowded.
-
Hangzhou is really something elseβjust the weekend foot traffic alone is horrifying [facepalm]. I avoid taking Line 1 now whenever I go out [facepalm].

Kerry Centre is just wall-to-wall people.
