Summer in Taiwan? Seriously, Just Don't. It's WAY Too Hot.
-
From late May to the end of September, it's basically always muggy and sticky. The weather might be nice and the clouds beautiful, but being outdoors is brutal. I'd recommend avoiding Taiwan during this period unless your itinerary is strictly limited to indoor shopping and eating in the city.
-
Is October a good time to visit Taiwan?
-
Summer just started this year, and it's already incredibly hot.
-
When I was a kid, summer nights could actually get a little chilly. I don't know if it's because everyone's blasting their ACs these years or what, but it's terrifyingly hot now.
-
The moment Taiwanese people feel that summer vibe, a voice in their head probably says, 'Well, the good days are over...' It's just too hot. Seriously, please don't visit Taiwan in the summer~~~~
-
It also makes you wonder, 'Did I really survive last summer like this...?'
-
Nope, just stayed in Taipei city. The weather's so unbearable, I didn't even want to go out.
-
It's 30°C today in my city in northern China.
-
It's seriously so much hotter than Japan.
-
Tell me about it! I was in Japan, and then flew to Taiwan – the heat here is just so much more intense.
-
Seriously, I've tried 3 restaurants recommended on Xiaohongshu (xhs) so far, and 2 of them were terrible! So for the rest of my trip, I'm completely avoiding places recommended on xhs. Taipei is way too hot; I even got heatstroke yesterday. It's supposed to be even hotter this weekend – I think I'm going to pass out.
-
Yeah, Xiaohongshu recommendations have let me down so many times. Now I just go into places that look good to me; I don't follow xhs anymore.
-
Yesterday, I stepped out for half an hour to pick up my kid, and it felt like I was evaporating. You absolutely need sunscreen and a hat, and to cover up well when you go out, otherwise it's truly awful.
-
Oh man, that sounds rough. I feel uncomfortable just reading about it.
