Wow, I came all excited to visit Dongshan (the name of a place) only to find out that some people here are incredibly "warm and welcoming"! This was the first time in my life that I've witnessed someone so brazenly blocking the road!
Here's what happened:
- The mountain road, locals call it "Ring Mountain Road", was already quite narrow. Yet someone intentionally parked their car there to block it.
- We tried calling them to ask nicely if they could move their vehicle but they completely ignored us, even telling us to report it ourselves!
Dongshan's residents seem overly hospitable.
In case you don't want to be considered a disturbance to the local people, consider if a travel to Dongshan is really essential since it could cause troubles.
Warnings for Potential Travelers to Dongshan (Important Notes for Travelers to Dongshan):
-
Safe driving on mountain roads (Be Careful when Driving on Mountain Roads):
- Many roads in Dongshan have tight winding turns. When driving, remember to slow down and take extra precautions.
- How to avoid issues: Drive slowly, keep an eye on the road conditions, especially when you can’t see what’s coming in the curves.
-
Possible obstructionists may appear (Potential for Road Obstructions):
- As we experienced, it is possible that some individuals will deliberately try to block off your path.
- How to avoid issues: Maintain calm and first attempt to communicate; if the situation becomes unbearable and involves personal safety or the trip, consider contacting local police (in China, the police emergency number is 110) for assistance.
-
Staggered planning (Plan with Flexibility):
- With such misfortunes, it’s inevitable that the trip schedule would be somewhat disrupted. While planning, leave room for unexpected circumstances and make flexible arrangements.
