Wow, the weather in Guangzhou feels like a roller coaster ride of emotions!
- When it was unbearably hot a few days back:
- I was about to go off the rails, ready to argue over any minor issue, feeling annoyed at everything around me.
- However, oddly enough, I felt extremely energetic and chatty, non-stop like I was on a caffeine rush!
- (For those unfamiliar with Guangzhou: it is located in subtropical zone with a monsoon climate, making summers incredibly hot and humid, often draining one’s patience!)
- Today's sudden temperature drop:
- I instantly felt drained, my spirits plummeting like a deflated balloon, feeling generally out of sorts.
- I don't want to do anything other than lie on the bed; my mood sinks right along with it; I was close to feeling 'emo'.
- (To further explain: Guangzhou's weather can be unpredictable, especially during seasonal transitions, where significant temperature fluctuations might happen either within a day or over several days, causing physical and emotional difficulties.)
- Here’s something to keep in mind for your friends visiting Guangzhou:
- Warning: The weather in Guangzhou, particularly around season changes, can be very capricious! You could wear short sleeves as hot summer continues one day but need to put on a coat the next day.
- Prepare yourself mentally: This fluctuating temperature can indeed impact your emotions. If you suddenly feel exceptionally irritable or depressed, don’t be overly surprised – check the weather forecast first – it could be just the climate acting up!
- What to do? Check the weather forecast frequently; make sure you bring enough clothes for layering convenience. If you sense your mood going downhill, feel free to lift yourself up by doing something that makes you happy!
- So have any of my fellow enthusiasts experienced these similar feelings? Or am I just overly sensitive to the weather?

Turn on the AC.
-
It's on, but the moment I step outside, I'm drenched in sweat and get super irritable.

Same here. That's just Guangzhou for you. It's incredibly frustrating when it's hot. And when it rains, it's so oppressively humid, it feels like you're steeped in water – heavy and lethargic like a sponge.
-
Yeah, it's incredibly muggy. I feel like I'm about to grow gills.
-
Try a hot Americano.
