Beijing Bound (May-June)? Your 'Overprotective BFF's' Guide to Dodging ALL the Tourist Traps! 💖
-
Let me tell you, so many friends returning from a trip to Beijing shared their disappointment with me, claiming it was just not fun or interesting!
However, after I looked into their specific itineraries in detail, it turns out they had stepped right into some "minefields"!
These "minefields," or "traps" as we commonly call them, refer to the common problems tourists often encounter, such as visiting unremarkable places, being misled into spending unnecessarily, or having an itinerary poorly structured, resulting in an overall poor experience.
Therefore, if you are planning your first visit to Beijing, please heed my advice: Please, make sure to do some "homework" before arriving!
Doing this homework means conducting preliminary research and planning your journey, figuring out where you actually need to go, how to get there most conveniently, and what cultural customs to observe or potential traps to avoid.
As the capital of China, Beijing is incredibly vast, with so many historical relics and cultural attractions to experience. However, if you come here unprepared, it's easy to become disoriented and could have a terrible impression of your trip, even having the urge to cry right there!
I, being accustomed to visiting Beijing (and hence consider myself relatively familiar with the area), have therefore put together this guide specifically for those embarking on their first adventure in Beijing, especially for my dear "buddies" (this term is used affectionately, like saying "dear friends/peeps"
). My goal is for this guide to genuinely provide you with some valuable information and insights!
