Beijing: Vital Details You CANNOT Overlook! ❗❗ 1

Sure thing, leave it to me! In Beijing, there are tons of fun spots and a few pitfalls too. I'll carefully polish my experience from this trip so that foreign friends can easily understand and enjoy it!

    * Hello there, friends from all around the world!
        * I’ve just returned from a trip to Beijing and while the memories are still fresh in my mind, let me quickly share my itinerary and personal travel tips with you all!
        * These are experiences and insights earned one step at a time. May they be helpful for those who are preparing to explore the city of Beijing.

    * **⚠️ Important Notice, Pay Attention! ⚠️**
        * I’ve highlighted some "challenges" and major reminders, such as things you need to pay extra attention to during your journey.
        * Promise me you’ll take a closer look at these sections! This way, you can avoid those same pitfalls I encountered and have an unforgettable, hassle-free trip in Beijing.
            * For instance, some places require long queue lines - how to save precious time; some “must-have” street foods might not cater to foreign tastes - I’ll give you a heads up.
            * And about the vast Beijing, also tips on how to navigate its public transportation will be included as well.

    * If you’re still unclear about certain issues while planning your visit to Beijing, or seeking more insider information:
        * Feel free to drop a query below! I am more than happy to share my insights with any friend about to embark on their exploration. I would love to help you plan a journey that is perfectly tailored to your taste!

The Great Wall in Beijing isn't at its scenic best in April; it's much better from August to October onwards! The Great Wall of China offers absolutely stunning views!!! Feel free to PM me for more tips and info. I'm just sharing to help fellow travelers (both those planning a trip and those who've already been) avoid common pitfalls!

            1. Yonghe Temple (Lama Temple) was where the imperial family worshipped. Common belief suggests you should visit it 2-3 times in succession. Since most tourists visiting Beijing rarely return the following year, I'd advise against going. However, if you're not concerned about such beliefs, or if you can indeed return the next year to fulfill any vows, then it's fine.
            2. Two years after this particular stone was moved to the Summer Palace, the Qing Dynasty collapsed. That's why it's known as the 'wealth-scattering stone' and considered unlucky. I think you get what I'm implying without me spelling it out.

If you don't have the 'right destiny' for it, we common folk would advise against it. Just take it as me being superstitious, haha.

I tried a place highly recommended by locals: Liqun Roast Duck.

From my own experience, you need to go through scalpers. I paid to get in.

Arriving in Beijing at 2 AM on April 12th? Wow, that's intense! Oh, and about that Beijing Douzhi (fermented mung bean milk) – just buy a bottle, and you can all have a good puke together, hahaha... That's hilarious!

It's in the Summer Palace. You'll spot it as soon as you enter; it's huge!!!

It was located outside the 2nd Ring Road but inside the 3rd, roughly in the 8 o'clock direction from Tiananmen Square. My private guide recommended the Jingman Zhilv Hotel. The price was around 200+ RMB, which is average, but it was decent enough.

I couldn't get a reservation for the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. Is it possible to get one on-site?

You absolutely must book online!! If you can't manage it yourself and don't have any connections, you can ask a tour group to arrange it for you, but you'll likely have to pay extra for a scalper's ticket through them.

There's a 5D movie inside that supposedly recreates the history of the Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan). However, its content didn't even dare to directly depict the events of the Eight-Nation Alliance. As someone patriotic, I was left speechless and very disappointed. Definitely a thumbs down!
