My First China Rodeo!
-
Sure, no problem! This is such a familiar feeling, as it's common for newcomers to big cities!
When I first arrived in Shenzhen, wow, I was truly awed by the urban grandeur. I felt like I had teleported from a "small town" straight into an "international metropolis." The hustle and bustle on the streets left me feeling slightly out of place—it looked like so many people and cars jammed together that I nearly thought I couldn't keep up with the fast pace, and let me tell you, I felt a bit embarrassed at first, hahaha.
(Let me explain to my foreign friends: Shenzhen is one of the fastest-growing cities in China and is very modern. A first visit can feel a little overwhelming with all the excitement and the large crowds.)
Hey, I have some honest advice to share with newcomers:
P.S. If this is your first time visiting a super-large city like Shenzhen and you feel a bit confused, worried, or out of place, don't fret! It's totally normal! It's not because you are "rustic," but rather, this place is simply too "new" and "quick"!
Here's what to do: Take a deep breath and remind yourself "I'm here to experience!" Gaze around fearlessly without worrying about being made fun of, since hardly anyone actually pays attention; they're all busy too. Take your time, and before long, you'll find your own rhythm.
Although Da Meisha Beach is famous, make sure to mentally prepare for a crowded scenario—almost more people than sand, especially during holidays. There will literally be throngs of tourists all over!
