Shanghai Trip: Talked Me Right Out Of It.

Can I use this photo? It's way better than the ones I took today!

Honey, I really wouldn't recommend visiting Shanghai during Chinese New Year or peak tourist season. Shanghai is more of a cultural city, meaning visits are often about shopping and experiences. But during CNY, many interesting shops are closed, leaving not much to see beyond a few buildings on a street. And in peak season, you'll face insane queues everywhere, which builds up your expectations, only for you to be disappointed. I've tried most of those 'internet famous' spots, and honestly, none are worth that kind of wait.

Welp, convinced not to go again. Haven't even booked tickets yet.

Getting Chinese New Year stuff pushed to me now? Er Yue Er (Dragon Heads-raising Festival) was ages ago! Is Xiaohongshu running out of content or something?
-
Even I find this weird.

As a true old-school Shanghainese, let me tell you, Shanghai isn't the city it used to be. It's really changed, and not for the better!
-
It's the same everywhere, though.
-
Where is this?
-
I was just there this morning.

I was at the spot you mentioned earlier this morning.
