Next thing you know, they'll be saying we should eliminate pedestrians because they can only walk in the vehicle lanes.

It's the same all over the country. E-bikes and street vendors are completely unregulated, it's utter chaos.

@生吃夜猫 @呱唧呱唧 I support Shenzhen people evolving to fly.

What's worst is that on these narrow paths, vehicles come from both directions. When two meet, they have to stop and squeeze past each other, leaving no room for pedestrians. Often, I'd rather walk on the main road; these non-motorized lanes are a free-for-all, with no license plates, so if you get hit, good luck finding the culprit.

I don't get it. Are these lines for pedestrians or e-bikes?

This is a non-motorized vehicle lane, for bicycles and e-bikes.

I suggest imposing a 10% sales tax on e-bikes and using the revenue for the city to build dedicated e-bike lanes.

I feel like Shenzhen is getting worse and worse; it doesn't have the same vibe it used to.

They removed public trash cans and parked a bunch of e-bikes there instead. So now there's more spitting and littering; you can't find a trash can for a kilometer around.
