I don't think I had that issue! I had one or two cups every day for the two weeks I was there, though I might have just been going to bed late. It seems like black tea-based ones are much better in that regard.

It's so incredibly noisy. The Guangzhou subway is the real nightmare ! When a group of them gets on, chattering away, it's like an exploding hot pot.

Today on the plane, the Guangdong aunties behind me were so loud my head was buzzing... I wouldn't mind them talking, even non-stop, but couldn't they lower their voices a bit? They were shouting like they were in a wet market, even though they were sitting right next to each other. Was there really a need to yell?

Haha, what a coincidence! I took this exact route today. Started at 6:00 AM and I'm at Leifeng Pagoda now. The whole journey has been so refreshing and uplifting.

I've always considered Hangzhou my second hometown.

When I asked if they had physical tickets, they even told me that all of Suzhou has stopped using them. They didn't even mention that you could buy one with cash.

That's just how the old city districts are. You have to remember, these areas were built decades ago. They've already made a huge effort to ease traffic by squeezing in numerous elevated roads in such narrow confines, but there's only so much capacity.

Didn't it used to be free to enter the area? I thought you only paid if you were specifically going into Lingyin Temple itself. Why do they charge an entrance fee right at the gate now?

It's pretty much the same in every city. I've had drivers complain to me too. At the end of the day, everyone's just trying to make a living.
