Let's Be Real: Shenzhen's Basically One Giant Disposable. In the early days of Reform and Opening Up, talented individuals from all over the country were recruited to build Shenzhen, so the overall caliber of people and the atmosphere were excellent. Now, there's a massive influx of... well, you know the type... all just looking to make a quick buck, then leaving a pile of 'trash' behind when they go.

How Many Has This Noodle Bowl TRICKED?! Southerner's First Northern Oil-Splashed Noodles = Total System SHUTDOWN!No, it was a taxi. But weirdly, the payment screen showed 'Didi Taxi.' I contacted Didi customer service, and they explained it was just a Didi payment QR code used by an offline taxi. I really regretted not booking a ride-hail car instead... For the rest of my time in Guangdong, I stuck to T3 Chuxing. I've lost trust in taxis.

Guangzhou: My Big Disappointment 😞Seriously, don't drive in downtown Guangzhou. The subway is by far the most convenient option.

Beijing: So, Street Sleeping... Can I Actually Do That?Wow! The hotel prices in Beijing are just outrageous, making my head spin!
I've been searching for a hotel in the past few days and my eyes are almost blurry. I'm getting close to having 'choice overload' syndrome!
Does anyone have any hotel recommendations? I am mainly looking for:
- Convenient transportation
- For example, being close to a metro station makes it much easier to travel around to various tourist spots. Beijing is really big, and if you don't have access to a car, proximity to the subway is critical!
- Moderate pricing
- I know that space is at a premium in Beijing, but I still hope to find options within budget that offer good quality and reasonable prices, or my wallet will suffer a huge loss!
- A pleasant environment
- Clean and safe are musts, and if the accommodations are comfortable, then that's perfect!
Recommendations needed! Recommendations needed! Recommendations needed! Important things need to be repeated three times!
️ Friendly reminder for those planning to travel to Beijing:
- Hotel prices may shock you!
- Especially in the city center during peak tourist season.
- What to do?
- Try to book early; sometimes there are early bird special prices available.
- Consider choosing hotels slightly away from the central area, but ensure they are near a metro station, as this can offer better value for the money spent.
- "Convenient transportation" isn't just a phrase idly tossed around in Beijing!
- Beijing is enormous with attractions scattered all over. If your accommodation area lacks convenient public transportation, you'll spend a great deal of time commuting every day.
- What to do?
- Prioritize hotels near the metro station, which can help you save a lot of time and taxi fares. Check the distance to the tourist sites you plan on visiting and whether the metro is easily accessible.
- Convenient transportation

Guangzhou: It's Great! ...Just Don't Expect Me Back.I really don't get people who travel and then trash the tourist spots. Where isn't crowded during summer vacation? Isn't our heat famous all over China? Since you knew it would be hot and crowded, and you still chose to come... Besides, Guangzhou already has a large population, add to that the holidays, and it being a popular tourist destination. If you like Shanghai so much, then just go to Shanghai. Why rant online? If you like shopping, then go to Shenzhen or Shanghai. Guangzhou indeed doesn't have as many plazas as Shenzhen, but it offers a different kind of culture and flavor. If all you're looking for is air-conditioned malls, WiFi, and fewer people, then really, don't come to Guangzhou, because you clearly won't appreciate its rich cultural heritage and unique tourist attractions.
