But many people in society are not well-off, and who wouldn't want to live in a better place? For them, urban villages are the best option. Is Guangdong very rich? I just feel Guangzhou isn't. If there's money, it should first be used to improve teachers' benefits and spent where it's truly needed. Renovating these areas primarily benefits a small group, while migrant workers and those in need will have one less affordable place to stay.

If they're all renovated, low-income workers won't be able to afford to live in Guangzhou anymore, and Guangzhou will no longer be the inclusive and welcoming city it's known to be.
