Travel Agent's Bombshell: Think Twice About Taiwan (Unless You Absolutely HAVE To!) 1

Hello everyone! We've been assisting with the processing of Taiwan travel permits (referred to by many as 'Taiwan Entry Permits') for several years now. However, we still want to share some heartfelt advice with our friends:

    • It's truly not an easy thing for friends on the mainland to go to Taiwan right now.
    • If you don't have an urgent or absolutely necessary reason to go, I personally suggest holding off and not rushing to do so —
      • Why say this? Currently, organized tourism by groups from the mainland to Taiwan is not open, nor are tourist visas for solo travelers allowed.
      • Therefore, the bar for going to Taiwan is quite high, and it requires a substantial financial commitment.

Here's a brief explanation for those who may not be fully aware of the situation: There are special reasons that make traveling to Taiwan from the mainland more complex than visiting other places, requiring the preparation of specialized travel documents, which can frequently change in policy.

If you really have something urgent or just cannot resist the desire to go, you can explore the following methods:

    • Obtain a观光入台证 through overseas identity**:
      • This method mainly targets mainland Chinese residents who work, study, or have long-term residency abroad. You have to provide relevant proof of your status there.
      • By the way, if you hold a passport from Hong Kong or Macau, the process would be much easier.
    • Apply for a 商务入台证**:
      • To apply, you must have formal employment in mainland China, and your company must issue you an employee reference letter.
      • Additionally, a Taiwanese company must send an invitation letter proving business dealings or partnerships between the two parties.
      • If these conditions aren't met, simply aiming to go through this channel will involve very costly fees!
    • Process a 探亲入台证**:
      • This applies if you are related within three generations to someone residing in Taiwan (such as grandparents, parents, siblings, children).
      • The kinship must also be verified through notarization at a notary office.
    • Participate in exhibitions or conferences:
      • Sometimes, the host organization of these events might help with obtaining invitation letters, offering an alternative path to entering Taiwan.

⚠️ Special Notice: Beware of unreliable agents!

You might have heard of some services quoting tens of thousands of RMB online; such figures are alarming.

Absolutely avoid working with small-time brokers or individuals without the proper qualifications or full understanding of the process:

    • consequence 1: Affecting your entry. If application materials are improperly prepared or the application is pursued through illegitimate channels, it may ultimately result in you not being allowed into Taiwan after all your efforts.
    • consequence 2: Risk to safety. More importantly, if you deal with unreliable sources, your personal information might be compromised, with risks of fraud and financial loss—this is indeed too hefty a price to pay!

In summary, if there is no urgent matter or absolute necessity, my sincere suggestion currently is to refrain from planning a trip to Taiwan for now.
Now, let me briefly introduce our company:
We are a reputable and experienced travel agency with over 37 years of history.
Furthermore, we've been appointed by countless consular offices to directly submit visa applications, so our expertise in visa processing is extensive!
In addition to the previously mentioned Taiwan entry permit application services, our service portfolio includes global visas such as those to the USA, Schengen countries (major European nations), Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asian countries, and Middle Eastern nations—to name just a few.

Just avoid summer... any other month is fine. Summer gets really hot, humid, and sticky. Safety isn't an issue, but be warned: late-night strolls might lead to weight gain (from all the delicious food!).

So, is there no way for ordinary mainland residents to go?

A relative gave me 1000 New Taiwan Dollars 30 years ago, and I'd like to go spend it.

Even international students face hurdles. For a simple tourist trip, they practically do a background check on your entire family. It's so ridiculous, I've lost interest in going.

It's fine over here for us; the application process is super convenient.

There are no security checks at the train or subway stations.

You can take the local train from 'Yongkang' station to 'Bao'an' station. Your ticket will then say 'Yong Bao An Kang' (from Yongkang to Bao'an), which is a pun for a phrase meaning 'wishing you eternal peace and health'! 😂😂😂
