This used to be just an ordinary spot in Shanghai, but it's been hyped up online in recent years. It's perfectly normal if you don't feel like visiting again.
As a tourist in Shanghai, why did I feel like people (not sure if they were locals) wouldn't even give me a proper look? It gave me a very snobbish vibe. Is it because I'm unattractive and look poor?
When you go to the Bund at night, don't take the side with the historic international buildings. Head straight to the opposite bank and access the viewing platform from Waibaidu Bridgeβit's less crowded. The historic buildings side has crowd diversions and is absolutely jam-packed.
Wukang Mansion... every time friends from out of town want to go, I dread accompanying them. It was never a tourist spot before, nothing much to see. But now, for tourists, it's suddenly a 'must-see' attraction.
I took my daughter to Shanghai once when she was in the 3rd grade. She's been talking about wanting to go back for years. She even pestered me to go during Chinese New Year. I'm planning to take her there for a short trip during the holiday next month.
